Sembcorp Green Infra, Adani Renewable Energy, Green Prairie Energy III (EverGreen), Adyant Enersol (DATTA INFRA), and ReNew Solar have won NTPC’s auction to develop 1,200 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects.

The tender was floated in June 2024.

Green Prairie and Adyant Enersol quoted a tariff of ₹3.28 (~$0.0390)/kWh and won a capacity of 200 MW and 70 MW, respectively.

Sembcorp Green, Adani Renewable Energy, and ReNew Solar quoted a tariff of ₹3.29 (~$0.0391)/kWh and won a capacity of 300 MW, 600 MW, and 30 MW, respectively.

The tender specified that hybrid power projects that are either under construction, yet to be commissioned, or without long-term power purchase agreements can qualify for the tender.

It also said these projects should not be part of any State or Central program, or have any obligations to sell power to specific beneficiaries.

The wind-solar hybrid projects can be located anywhere in India. The solar and wind components of the hybrid project can be at the same or different locations.

Successful bidders can execute the project through special-purpose vehicles.

The wind power projects must be developed following the government’s Guidelines for Wind Power Project development. For solar modules and the balance of systems, the technical guidelines issued by the government for grid-connected solar PV systems, as well as any guidelines in effect at the time of power supply commencement, must be adhered to.

Recently, NVVN, an NTPC subsidiary, invited bids to develop ground-mounted and rooftop solar photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of 12.82 MW across multiple locations in India.

NVVN also invited bids to develop ground-mounted and rooftop solar photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of 12.82 MW across multiple locations in India.
