The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has released the list of successful developers who won bids to develop rooftop solar projects across the country. In April of 2016, SECI had tendered 500 MW of rooftop solar to be installed in Indian states and union territories under CAPEX and RESCO models.

Mercom had previously reported that the auction witnessed some of the lowest tariffs ever quoted for rooftop projects including subsidies. The lowest quoted tariff was Rs. 3 (~$0.0442)/ kWh in special category states and Rs. 4.46 (~$0.0655)/kWh in general category states, and the highest quoted tariff was Rs. 6.17 (~$0.0909)/kWh in general category states and Rs. 4.81 (~0.070)/kWh in special category states.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, SECI has tendered a total of 1,500 MW of rooftop solar in 2016.
