The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has reduced the levelized ceiling tariff for the amended 500 MW rooftop solar tender; the new tariff for general category states and union territories is Rs.5.97 (~$0.092)/kWh and Rs.4.42 (~$0.068)/kWh for special category states and union territories.

The new benchmark tariff is lower than the previous benchmark by Rs.1.03 (~$0.015)/kWh in general category states and union territories, and lower by Rs.0.40 (~$0.006)/kWh in special category states and union territories.

Mercom previously reported, SECI amended the tender document pertaining to the 1,000 MW solar rooftop auction for government buildings, reducing the capacity to 500 MW.
