The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a notice inviting tender (NIT) to set up a 5.76 MW grid connected rooftop solar project on behalf of Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL). The project will be set up at GAIL Petrochemical Complex at Pata, Uttar Pradesh and is being developed under the domestic content requirement (DCR) category and Capex model. The pre-bid meeting for the project is scheduled on October 27, 2016 and the last date for submission of bids is November 15, 2016.

Bids should include design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, storage, civil work, erection, testing and commissioning,  as well as operation and maintenance of the project for a period of five years.

The project is being tendered under DCR category after acceptance of WTO ruling in the deviation settlement meeting. An official at the Ministry of Commerce had earlier told Mercom that the government can still mandate use of DCR category specifically to set up government solar projects on government infrastructure. Gas Authority of India (GAIL) is a state-run company.
