Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids to set up 400 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects (Tranche-XVIII) under the build, own and operate model.

Bids must be submitted by April 15, 2025. Bids will be opened on April 16.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1.29 million (~$15,000.19)/MW.

They must also submit a document fee of ₹50,000 (~$577.85) and a bid processing fee of ₹20,000 (~$231.14)/MW, with a maximum cap of ₹2 million (~$23,114).

Successful bidders must submit a success charge of ₹100,000 (~$1,155.70)/MW. This charge must be paid in two installments: 50% within 30 days of receiving the letter of award and the remaining 50% before signing the power purchase agreement.

The scope of work entails setting up ISTS-connected wind projects, including the transmission network up to the interconnection/delivery point to primarily supply wind power to SECI. It also includes ensuring the ISTS connectivity.

Selected bidders must provide operation and maintenance services for 25 years.

Bidders must have developed wind power projects and ensured ISTS grid connectivity.

Bidders must have a minimum net worth of ₹12.9 million (~$149,352.30)/MW based on the quoted capacity as of the last date of the previous financial year or at least seven days before the bid submission deadline.

The minimum bid capacity is 50 MW, and the maximum bid capacity for a single bidder is 200 MW.

If the projects are set up in Gujarat and Rajasthan, the wind power developer must abide by the Supreme Court’s orders and MNRE’s guidelines on retrofitting of transmission lines and wind turbines to avoid bird collision in the Great Indian Bustard habitat.

Recently, SECI invited bids to set up cumulative 2.7 MW grid-connected floating solar projects with a battery energy storage system in Lakshadweep.

Earlier this year, SECI invited bids to set up 500 MW of ISTS-connected solar power projects (Tranche XIX).

In December last year, SECI awarded ReNew Solar Power (ReNew), ACME Solar Holdings (ACME Solar), and Adani Renewable Energy Holdings Twelve (Adani Green Energy) its tender to develop 1,000 MW of ISTS-connected solar projects (Tranche XVIII).
