In Jharkhand, the state government will provide a 50 percent subsidy to residential consumers installing rooftop solar and a 10 percent subsidy to commercial (industrial) consumers installing rooftop solar.

A Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Authority (JREDA) official confirmed the provision and commented, “By the end of July, policy implementation will begin and consumers can start availing subsidies. Right now, we are in the process of finalizing the policy document and it will take up to 10 days.”

The JREDA official also said that rooftop solar with net-metering systems will be installed across the state and they are currently communicating these offers to consumers. The JREDA official also stressed that the agency is looking at rooftop solar to fulfill its RPO.
