Rangamati Enterprise Wins O&M Contract for 10 MW Solar Project in West Bengal

Rangamati Enterprise has won a contract from West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDCL) for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the 10 MW ground-mounted solar power project at the Sagardighi thermal power plant in Murshidabad for four and a half months.
The contract value is ₹1.98 million (~$23,540).
The tender was floated in February this year.
The scope of work includes administrative, monitoring, and maintenance operations as well as documentation, replacement, and successful operation of the project for the contract duration.
Rangamati will not be allowed to engage a subcontractor to execute the tasks under the tender.
If there is a delay in executing the tasks or supplying the required materials, WBPDCL will reserve the right to recover a sum equivalent to 0.5% of the value delayed supply/work for each week of delay, subject to a maximum of 10% of the total value of the order, as liquidated damages.
WBPDCL’s Sagardighi thermal power plant features a total of five solar projects, including the 10 MW ground-mounted project. The other completed projects include – a 3.511 MWdc rooftop solar project and a 5 MW grid-connected floating solar project. WBPDCL is also constructing two 10 MW floating solar projects at four raw water ponds.
In July 2023, WBPDCL awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction contract for 22.5 MW floating solar projects at the Bakreswar, Santhaldih, and Sagardidhi thermal power plants to Indore-based Universal Transformers, a provider of electrical and automation solutions.
In August, WBPDCL invited bids to operate and maintain a 3.5 MW rooftop solar project at the Sagardighi thermal power project.
In February 2024, WBPDCL invited bids to build a 10 MW solar power project on a turnkey basis along the Teesta Canal bank in the Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal.
