Railways Tenders 1.4 MW of Rooftop Solar Projects in Andhra Pradesh

The Ministry of Railways has issued a tender to set up 1,445 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects at railway stations in the Guntakal Division of South Central Railway in Andhra Pradesh.
The tender’s advertised value is ₹98.11 million (~$1.05 million).
Bids must be submitted by April 30, 2026.
Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1.96 million (~$21,023.54).
The scope of work entails the survey, design, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems of capacities varying from 20 kW to 200 kW. It also involves providing operation and maintenance services for five years.
The solar projects must incorporate crystalline Mono PERC modules, pure sine-wave inverters, and a remote monitoring system with a SIM valid for five years. The projects must include net connectivity, fixing structures, lightening arrestor, earthing, net metering, controls and protections, and single-phase preventers.
Selected bidders must provide interconnect cables, cable trays for DC cabling, and switches. They must complete the civil works for the projects.
The solar projects must be completed within 60 months.
Bidders must have completed or substantially completed any of the following similar works during the past seven years:
- Three similar works, each costing at least 30% of the tender’s advertised value
- Two similar works, each costing at least 40% of the tender’s advertised value
- One similar work, costing at least 60% of the tender’s advertised value
Similar work refers to the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar power-generating systems with a minimum capacity of 5 kW.
Bidders must have a minimum average annual turnover of V/N or V (whichever is lesser), where V is the tender value, and N is the completion period in years.
This February, South Central Railway issued an engineering, procurement, and construction tender to set up rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 1.415 MW in Vijayawada Division, Andhra Pradesh.
Recently, the Nagpur division of Central Railway, under the Ministry of Railways, invited bids to set up a 1.3 MW rooftop solar project on buildings and residential quarters at the Wardha and Ajni stations in Maharashtra.
