The Angul–Srikakulam 765 kV second D/C line is being proposed under the grid strengthening works to evacuate power from green hydrogen/green ammonia projects in the region.

The contract period will be for 28 months.

Selected bidders must submit a contract performance guarantee of ₹550 million (~$5.89 million).

Bidders must have provided consultancy services as an independent engineer, lender’s engineer, or project management consultant for at least one transmission line project of at least 220 kV, with a minimum line length of 25 km, completed within the last 10 years.

They must also have provided consultancy services as an independent engineer, lender’s engineer, or project management consultant for at least one substation project of at least 220 kV, featuring at least one 220 kV class interconnecting transformer, completed within the last 10 years.

Bidders must have received a minimum professional fee of ₹10 million (~$107,226) per annum in the last three financial years and a positive net worth in the last three financial years.

Karnataka Grid Tender

According to the Central Electricity Authority, India targeted expanding its power transmission network by 137,500 circuit km of lines and 827,600 MVA of substation capacity, at an estimated cost of ₹7.93 trillion (~$84.33 billion), to support 900 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by the financial year 2035-36.

Recently, CTUIL stressed that grid expansion must align with realistic demand growth and resource adequacy planning rather than with connectivity applications.
