Railways Floats Tender for 1.88 MW Rooftop Solar Systems in Chhattisgarh

The Bilaspur Division—Electrical of the South East Central Railway in Chhattisgarh has issued a tender for 1.88 MW rooftop solar systems to be installed in CAPEX mode on service buildings, station buildings, and residences.

The last date to submit the bids is September 24, 2024.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹591,700 (~$7,048). The successful bidder must also pay a security deposit of 5% of the contract’s total value.

The project must be completed in 12 months.

The tender’s advertised value is ₹88.33 million (~$1.05 million).

Bidders must submit bid security of 2% of the cost for work estimated at ₹10 million (~$119,112 ).

For works estimated to cost more than ₹10 million (~$119,112 ), ₹200,000 (~$2,382) plus 0.5% of the excess of the estimated cost must be paid.

Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or ‘V’, whichever is less, where V= Advertised value of the tender in crores of Rupees N= Number of years prescribed for the completion of work for which bids have been invited. Per the audited balance sheet, the average annual contractual turnover will be calculated as an average of total contractual payments in the previous three financial years.

Bidders must have completed any of the following within the last seven years:

  • Three similar works, each costing not less than the amount equal to 30% of the advertised value of the tender.
  • There are two similar works, each costing at least 40% of the advertised value of the tender.
  • One similar work costing not less than 60% of the advertised value of the tender.

Besides, work experience certificates issued by any government organization or by a public listed company having an average annual turnover of ₹5 billion and above in the last three financial years must be furnished.

The Raipur Division of South East Central Railway in Chhattisgarh also invited bids for state-wise empanelment of agencies to implement grid-connected rooftop solar power projects of 1.165 MW capacity at its yards and workshops through public-private partnership and on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.

In August, the division also invited bids for another similar state-wise empanelment of agencies to implement grid-connected rooftop solar power projects of 1.020 MW.
