The Jodhpur division of North Western Railway has floated a tender for 1 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power projects to be installed across railway stadiums, clubs, institutes, community centers, residential quarters, and other locations over the Jodhpur division.

The last date to submit the bids is March 18, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders will have six months to complete the project. For the 1 MW tender, the advertised value of the project is ₹42.9 million ($12.31 million). Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹364,600 ($4,392).

The scope of work consists of supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project.

Bidders must have completed any of the following within the last seven years: three similar works, each costing no less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender, or two similar works, each costing no less than 40% of the advertised value; or one similar work, costing no less than 60% of the advertised value.

Work of a similar nature, for this tender, is defined as the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a solar power project with or without battery backup.

Bidders should possess a valid electrical contractor license issued by the government, which should be submitted along with the tender document. However, the original equipment manufacturer or its authorized dealer is exempt from this licensing requirement.

Bidders must have a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or “V,” whichever is less, where V stands for the advertised value of the tender in rupees and N is the number of years prescribed for completion of work for which bids have been invited.

The average annual contractual turnover will be calculated as an average of “total contractual payments” in the previous three financial years, as per the audited balance sheet.

Last December, North Western Railways floated tenders to install 2.8 MW grid-connected rooftop solar projects across the station and non-station buildings.

The Jaipur division also invited bids to implement 1 MW rooftop solar projects on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.
