Paradip Port Authority Invites Bids for 10 MW Solar Project

Paradip Port Authority has issued a tender for the design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive ten-year operation and maintenance of a 10 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic power project.

The last date for the submission of bids is November 20, 2024.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹876.3 million (~$10.4 million).

Bidders must pay a tender fee of ₹15,000 (~$178.4) + 12% GST and an earnest money deposit of ₹9.76 million (~$116,105).

The successful bidder must deposit a performance bank guarantee of 10% of the accepted tender value.

Paradip Port Trust may organize a joint site visit and pre-bid and/or post-bid meetings. Bidders must participate in both.

Bidders who have completed similar projects within the last seven years, up to September 30, 2024, are eligible if they meet one of the following conditions:

  • Completion of a single project worth at least ₹701 million (~$8.3 million)
  • Completion of two projects, each worth at least ₹438.2 million (~$5.2 million)
  • Completion of three projects, each worth at least ₹350.5 million (~$4.1 million)

The projects should involve EPC execution of solar projects on a turnkey basis, including the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected solar projects with the following minimum capacities:

  • One project with a capacity of at least 8 MW
  • Two projects, each with a capacity of at least 6 MW
  • Three projects, each with a capacity of at least 4 MW

Bidders must have an average annual turnover of at least ₹262.9 million (~$3.1 million) over the last three financial years, ending on March 31, 2024.

The Deendayal Port Authority in Kandla, Gujarat, received 13 expressions of interest (EoI) to a global call for applications to develop a green hydrogen hub at the port.

Last November, the government launched the National Center of Excellence for Green Port and Shipping with a mandate to help major ports in the country source as much as 60% of their energy demand from renewable sources (solar and wind). Currently, less than 10% of the total energy demand for major ports is met by green energy.
