Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has issued a tender for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 10 MW (AC) floating solar project at its Hazira facility in Gujarat.

The scope of work includes operations and maintenance of the project for seven years.

Bids must be submitted by April 6, 2025. Bids will be opened on April 7.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹5.175 million (~$59,456.81).

Bidders must commit to a minimum net electrical energy generation guarantee of 20,450,000 kWh for the first year at the delivery point. This guarantee corresponds to a capacity utilization factor of 23.34%.

The floating solar project, to be installed over two water reservoirs, must have a capacity of 10 MW and will be connected to ONGC’s 11 kV internal grid. The project must utilize 545 Wp modules arranged in a landscape orientation with a 5-degree tilt. The system must include four 2.5 MVA inverters to optimize power conversion efficiency.

One of the reservoirs has to be cleaned and prepared for installing the solar panels.

Bidders must also have experience in commissioning central inverters for solar projects with a cumulative capacity of over 50 MW.

Recently, ONGC floated an EPC tender for implementing a 2.01 MW solar project across 35 locations in the ONGC Uran thermal project in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The scope of work involved designing, engineering, manufacturing, procuring, supplying equipment and materials, and erection, testing, and commissioning the grid-connected solar projects.

In December 2024, ONGC floated a tender for O&M services of 1.54 MW grid-connected solar systems distributed across 19 installations under its Mehsana asset in Gujarat. The selected bidders were required to handle cleaning, inspection, preventive maintenance, and breakdown repairs.
