NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has issued a tender for the development of a 540 MW wind energy project at the interstate transmission system (ISTS) substation Anantapur-III in Andhra Pradesh under Tranche-II.
Bids must be submitted by March 30, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.
The project will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis, including land acquisition and 10 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M).
The project will use wind turbine generators (WTGs) listed from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) (Wind). The tender specifies the deployment of the WTGs with a minimum machine capacity of 3 MW or higher. ISTS connectivity will be arranged by NTPC REL.
The scope of work includes the design, engineering, micro-siting, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, installation, and commissioning of the wind project.
It includes the supply of WTGs, the establishment of unit substations, the development of 33 kV internal evacuation lines, the construction of a pooling substation, the installation of a central monitoring and control system (CMCS), wind monitoring mast(s), and the construction of an extra high voltage (EHV) transmission line up to the ISTS substation.
Civil works such as foundations, roads, and buildings, as well as electrical works including internal high tension lines, EHV substations, system controls, and a metering station, are part of the EPC package.
The successful bidder must also undertake inland transportation and insurance on a free on-road basis, geotechnical investigations, grid compliance studies, and installation of SCADA/SAS systems, a power plant controller, static var generator, and harmonic filters.
In March 2025, NTPC REL invited bids for the supply and installation of 224 WTGs for a 672 MW wind power project in Solapur, Maharashtra.
In the same month, NTPC REL invited bids for a balance-of-system package for an interstate transmission-connected 900 MW wind energy project located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
