NTPC has invited bids for the development of 769 kW of grid-connected ground-mounted solar projects and 929 kW of rooftop solar power projects at Munitions India (Aruvankadu and Trichy).

The last date for the submission of bids is August 20, 2024. Bids will be opened the next day.

Bidders have to pay a bid security of ₹1 million (~$11,942).

The installation of solar photovoltaic systems on the rooftops of Munitions India buildings should be done in shadow-free areas to maximize energy generation for each building suitable for solar power projects.

The project’s final capacity will be based on a detailed engineering and approved design for each building’s rooftop.

The successful bidder will be responsible for the design, engineering, testing, and relevant activities, including a preliminary visual assessment of the roof, water arrangements, electricity, security, and determining the optimal capacity for the solar projects, as well as operation and maintenance (O&M) activities for ten years.

NVVN plans to finance this package through external commercial borrowings, domestic commercial borrowings, or its own sources.

Bidders are encouraged to visit the site and gather the necessary information required for the installation of the solar projects before submitting their bids.

They are responsible for assessing the site conditions before submitting their bids and no additional claims will be entertained in this regard.

Only ‘Class-I local suppliers’ and ‘Class-II local suppliers’ are allowed to participate in this tender.

Any bidder from a country that shares a land border with India, can only participate if they are registered with a competent authority.

NVVN reserves the right to reject any or all bids or cancel/withdraw the Invitation for Bids without providing any reason. In such cases, no bidder or potential bidder shall have any claims arising from this action.

Earlier, NTPC Renewable Energy, an NTPC subsidiary, issued a tender for an engineering, procurement, and construction package to develop solar projects of a cumulative capacity of 795 MW (2×275 MW + 1×245 MW) at Khavda RE Power Park, Rann of Kutch, in Gujarat.
