NTPC has invited bids for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package to repower its 5 MW NTPC Andaman solar project at Garacharma in Port Blair.

The scope includes the supply, erection, testing, and inspection of equipment and materials at the manufacturer’s works; packing, supply, and transportation; transit insurance; delivery to site; unloading; storage; and equipment erection, including associated civil and structural works.

Two out of six blocks, specifically Block-3/4, are to be repowered with higher-efficiency modules while keeping the existing module mounting structure, inverter, and power evacuation system unchanged.

The tender includes the supply of bifacial solar modules with a total capacity of 2.03 MW, with a power range of 580-600 Wp, for repowering the solar project.

The last date to submit bids is June 2, 2026. Bids will be opened on June 4.

Bidders must submit ₹1 million (~$10,453) as the earnest money deposit.

Bidders should have commissioned grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 1.6 MW or more, including at least one project with a capacity of 100 kW. The reference project with a capacity of 100 kW or more must have been in successful operation for at least six months before the bid opening.

The average annual turnover of bidders should be at least ₹66.1 million (~$690,923) over the last three financial years.

The bidders’ net worth as on the last day of the preceding financial year should be at least 100% of the bidder’s paid-up share capital.

Only Class I local suppliers are eligible to participate in this tender. To be classified as a Class I local supplier, the local content should be at least 60%.

Any bidder from a country that shares a land border with India will be eligible to bid in this tender only if the bidder is registered with the competent authority.

The modules to be used for repowering must be from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

If the contract is not completed within the stipulated time, the contractor will pay 0.5% of the total contract price per week of delay, capped at 5% of the contract value.

Recently, NTPC Renewable Energy invited bids for the supply of solar modules for 1.2 GW of solar power projects at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park-South Block in Gujarat.

Earlier, NTPC floated two tenders inviting bids to supply the balance-of-system for 2,100 MW of grid-connected solar projects in Andhra Pradesh.
