NTPC Renewable Energy has invited bids for an HT power cable supply package for a 1,255 MW solar block of Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the Kutch district of Gujarat.

The package includes manufacturing, testing, packing, and supply (including freight and insurance) of 33 kV grade power cables. The cables should be 19/33 kV (E) grade, with a stranded compact circular aluminum conductor and 90% armor coverage. The total length of the cables needed for the project is 835 kilometers.

The last day to submit the bids is June 29, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹10 million (~$121,110). The cost of the bidding documents is ₹22,500 (~$272).

Bidders must have prior experience in manufacturing and supplying at least 400 kilometers of XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) insulated power cable with a voltage grade of 19/33 kV or higher, which should have been executed in one or more orders, and at least ten kilometers of flame-retardant low smoke cable, regardless of the voltage level.

They should have an average annual turnover of ₹550 million (~$6.6 million) for any three out of the preceding five financial years. The net worth of the bidder as of the last day of the preceding financial year should not be less than 100% of the bidder’s paid-up share capital.

Only Class-I Local Suppliers can bid under this tender. The local content requirement to categorize a bidder as Class-I local supplier is a minimum of 50%.

Any bidder from a country that shares a land border with India will also be eligible to bid.

Last June, NTPC Renewable Energy invited bids for the design and construction of the foundation and erection of module mounting structures with a tracker-based technology for the solar panels, including fixing the modules on the tracker and solar modules interconnection for 1,255 MW of solar projects at the Khavda Renewable Park.
