NLC India and Adyant Enersol (Datta Infra) are winners in SJVN’s auction to set up 600 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power projects on a build-own-operate basis.

NLC India won 200 MW at a tariff of ₹3.74 (~$0.0429)/kWh and Adyant Enersol won 112 MW at a tariff of ₹3.81 (~$0.0437)/kWh.

The tender was floated in April 2024.

Out of the 600 MW, only 312 MW of capacity was auctioned.

The two successful bidders must also set up the transmission network up to the interconnection/delivery point.

They will also be responsible for obtaining all clearances, permits, and licenses, including land arrangement, installation, and project ownership.

The tender considered wind projects under construction or yet to be commissioned or commissioned but selling wind power on a short-term merchant basis.

Bidders were allowed to submit a single bid offering a minimum project capacity of 50 MW and a maximum quantum of 300 MW. The project capacity was to be quoted in multiples of 10 MW.

The projects can be set up at multiple locations, each with a minimum capacity of 50 MW.

SJVN will enter into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the winners for 25 years. The projects must be commissioned within 24 months of signing the PPA.

According to the tender terms, only commercially established and operational technologies will be used in the projects to minimize the technology risk and to achieve timely commencement of power supply.

The projects must utilize type-certified wind turbine models included in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The projects must maintain a minimum capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 22%. Developers can revise the CUF once within three years.

Recently, Adyant Enersol and UPC Renewables won SJVN’s auction to set up 600 MW ISTS-connected wind power projects on a build-own-operate basis.

Last November, SJVN Green Energy invited bids for developing wind power projects of up to 100 MW in Gujarat.
