NHPC has invited bids to select developers to set up 1.2 GW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects anywhere in India with a greenshoe option (Tranche-IX).

The last day to submit the bids is November 4, 2024. Bids will be opened on November 8.

The processing fee for the cumulative capacity quoted by a bidder (bid capacity/contracted capacity) is structured as follows:

  • For 50 MW, the fee is ₹300,000 (~$3573) plus 18% GST.
  • For capacities above 50 MW up to 100 MW, the fee is ₹500,000 (~$5956) plus 18% GST.
  • For capacities above 100 MW up to 250 MW, the fee is ₹1 million (~$11,912) plus  18% GST.
  • For capacities above 250 MW up to 500 MW, the fee is ₹2 million (~$23,822) plus 18% GST.
  • For capacities above 500 MW, the fee is ₹3 million (~$35,733) plus 18% GST.

Bidders must pay ₹942,000 (~$11220) /MW as an earnest money deposit.

Selected bidders must furnish ₹2.35 million (~$27,991)/MW as performance bank guarantee NHPC before signing the power purchase agreement.

The total capacity that can be offered should not surpass 600 MW but can go up to 1,200 MW for bidders utilizing the greenshoe option.

However, for projects in the northeastern states and special category areas, the minimum contracted capacity a bidder can offer is 30 MW.

They can set up their solar power projects anywhere in India on land they identify and either purchase or lease at their discretion, expense, risk, and responsibility.

Bidders must specify the proposed locations of their projects when submitting their bids.

Only commercially established and operational technologies must be deployed to minimize technology risks and ensure the successful commissioning of the projects.

In May, NHPC invited bids to select developers to set up 1.2 GW ISTS-connected solar power projects anywhere in India (Tranche-VIII).
