Military Engineer Services has invited bids for developing three solar power projects of capacities 1 MW, 200 kW, and 130 kW at Niwaru, Bhakrota, and Jaipur military station, respectively, under garrison engineer (South) Jaipur.

The last date to submit the bids is March 4, 2023. Bids will be opened on March 6.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹85.6 million (~$1.05 million).

The project must be completed within a year from the date of handing over the site to the contractor.

Bidders will have to submit ₹753,000 (~$9,238) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to furnish an amount equivalent to 5% of the total contract amount as a performance bank guarantee within 28 days of the receipt of the letter of acceptance.

Bidders should have experience of having completed and commissioned at least one work of capacity not less than 80% of the total capacity, i.e., 800 kW; or two works, each of capacity not less than 50% of the total capacity, i.e., 500 kW; or three works, each of capacity not less than 40% of the total capacity, i.e., 400 kW during the last seven years.

The contractor will not be allowed to execute the work by subletting or through power of attorney to a third party or another firm.

Eligible solar power firms can either bid as direct bidders or under a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Military Engineer Services-enlisted contractors. However, they cannot bid simultaneously for the same tender as direct bidders and under the MoU with Military Engineer Services-enlisted contractors.

The contractor will be responsible for integrating the solar power projects with the existing Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JVVNL) system. This would include necessary infrastructure, including equipment arrangement for import/export metering, harmonic stabilization within the limits of the Central Electrical Authority, and statutory approvals from JVVNL and other state agencies.

Earlier, Military Engineer Services had invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 1.5 MW grid-connected solar power project at Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.
