MES Invites Bids for Maintenance of 1.7 MW Solar Project

The Military Engineer Services (MES) has invited bids for the comprehensive maintenance of a 1.7 MW solar power project at the Tughlakabad Air Force Station (AFS).
Bids must be submitted by January 1, 2025. Bids will be opened on January 3.
Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹50,000 (~$600).
The project’s estimated cost is ₹2.5 million (~$30,000).
The contract will be for 330 days.
The scope of work involves cleaning the solar photovoltaic modules, checking electrical parameters regularly to ensure the project’s functioning within the prescribed limits, and conducting project area maintenance.
Selected bidders must also replace critical components, including power conditioning units, inverters, string inverters, cables, and other electrical projects that become defective.
They must continuously monitor the project’s electricity production, identify system disturbances or outages, and provide monthly generation reports.
Bidders must provide insurance coverage for all workers involved in the maintenance activities. They must demonstrate experience in completing, commissioning, or providing comprehensive maintenance for solar power projects in government departments or public sector undertakings within the last seven years.
Bidders must have completed at least one similar project with a capacity of not less than 80% of the capacity specified in the tender, or two projects with a capacity of not less than 50% of the capacity, or three projects with a capacity of not less than 40% of the capacity.
Recently, MES invited bids for the comprehensive maintenance of a 1.7 MW solar project at the AFS Palam, New Delhi. The project’s estimated cost was ₹2.49 million (~$29,618), with a maintenance period of 270 days.
In August, MES floated a tender for a 1 MW solar power project at AFS Gwalior. The project’s estimated cost was ₹89.53 million (~$1.07 million).
It also issued a tender to develop a 1 MW solar power project at Gorakhpur Air Force Area in Uttar Pradesh.
