Oman National Engineering & Investment Co (ONEIC) signed a contract to implement the country’s biggest rooftop solar project, a 3.5 MW system, for the International Sea Food Company (Simak) at Duqm Special Economic Zone. Developed under a design, build, operate, and transfer model, the project enables Simak to adopt renewable energy with no upfront costs. ONEIC will finance, build, and operate the system for 25 years, delivering reliable, clean energy and decreasing Simak’s dependence on the grid.

During the World Government Summit, Dubai launched the ‘Rail Bus’ to provide sustainable, efficient, and economical transportation. The Rail Bus system is designed to operate using renewable energy. Solar panels installed along the tracks convert sunlight into a cost-effective energy supply.

Australian electrolyzer innovator Hysata signed an agreement with ACWA Power to demonstrate its high-efficiency capillary-fed electrolysis technology commercially in Saudi Arabia. The partnership targets accelerating the company’s commercial deployment and aligns with ACWA Power’s experience in large-scale green hydrogen projects, including the 2.2 GW facility, which is over 60% complete and is expected to produce 600 tons of hydrogen daily by 2026.

Morocco’s National Authority for Electricity Regulation set new capacity targets for wind and solar energy, aiming to expand the country’s renewable capacity from 2,450 MW in 2025 to 9,338 MW by 2029—29% higher than previous targets. Solar capacity is expected to rise from 1,515 MW to 5,163 MW, while wind capacity on the transmission network is projected to increase from 935 MW to 4,175 MW. The expansion is driven by industrial electrification, desalination, and green hydrogen projects.
