A consortium comprising Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) and Kuwait’s Fouad AlGhanim & Sons has been selected to develop the 1.1 GW Al-Dibdibah solar project and Al-Shagaya Renewable Energy Phase III, Zone 1 independent power project in Kuwait. The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy will procure power generated from the project through the Kuwait Authority for Partnership Projects. The development forms part of Kuwait’s efforts to expand large-scale renewable energy capacity and diversify its power generation mix.
