Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) has invited bids for installing and commissioning 10 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems under the capital expenditure (CAPEX) model on government buildings at various locations in the state.
The successful bidder must also undertake the project’s operation and maintenance for five years.
The last date to submit the bids is March 15, 2023. Bids will be opened the following day.
Bidders will have to submit ₹200,000 (~$2,438) for projects in the range of 1kW to 10 kW as a security deposit.
The same would be ₹300,000 (~$3,658) for projects in the range of 10 kW to 100 kW, and ₹500,000 (~$6,096) for projects in the range of 100 kW to 500 kW.
The fixed rates for rooftop solar systems under various categories are given below:
Under the tender, the maximum capacity of a rooftop solar system will be 500 kW.
Solar energy generation meter needs to be installed along with the net meter, net billing, or behind-the-meter arrangement.
For the 1 kW to 10 kW category, bidders must have experience installing an aggregate capacity of 10 kW solar systems, including a single project of 5 kW capacity during the last three years.
For the 10 kW to 100 kW category, bidders must have experience installing an aggregate capacity of 100 kW solar systems, including a single project of 50 kW during the last three years.
For the 100 kW to 500 kW category, bidders must have experience installing an aggregate capacity of 500 kW solar systems, including a single project of 100 kW capacity during the last three years.
Also, bidders should have an average annual turnover of ₹40 million (~$487,680) during the last three financial years.
In June last year, MEDA issued an expression of interest (EoI) to discover a tariff to implement 10 MW grid-connected rooftop solar systems on government buildings at various locations in the state under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model.
Earlier, MEDA had invited bids from engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors to set up 1.128 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems at 564 primary and upper primary Zilla parishad schools (2 kW each) in the Nagpur district of the state.
According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, MEDA has floated tenders for 55 MW of rooftop solar capacity to date.
