KELTRON Invites Bids for Maintenance of 1 MW Solar Project in Kerala

Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (KELTRON) has invited bids for a two-year comprehensive annual maintenance contract for a 1 MW solar power project at Ramakkalmedu, Idukki.

The last date for submitting bids is May 14, 2024. Bids will be opened on May 16.

Bidders must pay a tender document fee of ₹3,626 ($43) and an earnest money deposit of ₹24,170 ($289.46).

The successful bidder is required to provide a performance bank guarantee equivalent to 5% of the contract amount.

Bidders must possess a valid digital signature certificate obtained from an approved certifying authority.

They must be public sector undertakings/companies/firms in Kerala, with consortium bidding permitted. They should have experience supplying and installing solar power projects with a minimum aggregated capacity of 100 kW, including at least one project of 50 kW capacity.

They must hold an Electrical “A/B class contractor license” from the Kerala State Electrical Inspectorate or have authorization from a valid license holder.

They should have completed at least one HT-connected solar power project in Kerala, encompassing various components’ supply, installation, and commissioning.

Bidders must have at least two years’ experience in supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning solar power projects, along with a sufficient technical team for project execution and maintenance.

A service center operational in Kerala for the last two years is mandatory for maintenance purposes.

The total payment will be divided into four instalments, each to be paid semi-annually upon completion of work and submission of an invoice along with the O&M report.

Any faulty system or components must be replaced or repaired within two days of reporting the fault, with servicing conducted at the installation site. Any delay in servicing beyond ten days of fault reporting will incur a penalty of ₹5000 (~$59.87) per month or part thereof.

The project-related items have to be delivered to the installation site.

Earlier, KELTRON invited expressions of interest to empanel engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors for installing solar power projects and solar streetlights on a turnkey basis in the state.
