Indian Telephone Industries (ITI), a government of India undertaking, has floated a tender to empanel agencies to implement grid-connected rooftop solar power systems of a cumulative capacity of 200 MW on government buildings in Bihar.

The scope of the work includes design, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, warranty, and comprehensive operation and maintenance for five years.

The last date for submitting bids is June 16, 2024. Bids will be opened the same day.

The minimum quoted capacity (kW) is 10 MW. The cost of the tender document is ₹11,800 (~$141.28) inclusive of GST at 18%.

Bidders must pay an earnest money deposit of ₹10 million (~$119,725.9).

The successful bidder must provide a performance bank guarantee, which should be either a percentage of the bidder’s order value or a fixed amount calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the order value.

Bidders should be bodies incorporated in India under the Companies Act, 1956 or Companies Act, 2013, and engaged in the business of solar power/renewable energy/electrical works.

Bidders must have commissioned at least 1 MW of on-grid, off-grid, or hybrid solar power systems within the last five years before the bid submission date.

They must have a positive net worth at the end of the preceding financial year and an auditor’s certificate to verify this.

They should have a minimum average annual turnover of ₹100 million (~$1.1 million) over the last three financial years.

Recently, BREDA also invited expressions of interest for the empanelment of agencies for grid-connected rooftop solar power systems of various capacities under the CAPEX model, with an estimated capacity of 200 MW, at government buildings in the state.

In November 2023, Bihar State Power Generation Company invited bids to set up a 10 MW floating solar project on Phulwaria Dam under the renewable energy service company model.
