IROAF Tenders 1,125 kW of Solar to be Set up on Railway Coaches

The Indian Railways Organization for Alternative Fuels (IROAF) tendered a total of 1,125 kW of rooftop solar to be set up on trailer railway coaches. The bid-submission deadline is July 10, 2017.
The entire capacity will comprise solar PV systems of 4.5 KW capacity, each set up on the tops of 250 trailer railway coaches. The scope of work includes, design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the project. The successful bidder will have to account for 110V/120A lithium battery bank with other accessories.
The estimated project cost is Rs.291.6 million (~$4.52 million) and the project completion time frame is 18 months from the date of issue of letter of award. The IROAF has regulated that the bidder will a provide comprehensive warranty for material and service including repair/rectification of any defect in solar PV system(s) for a period of five years from the date of successful completion of work.
According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, the project was initially tendered in March 2017.
