Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL) has invited bids for the supply of 750 MW of bifacial solar modules with a minimum wattage output of 540 Wp for a 600 MW solar power project at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in the Kutch district of Gujarat.

The last date to submit the bids online is October 25, 2023. Bids will be opened on October 26.

Bidders must submit ₹100,000 (~$1,203)/MW as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to submit an amount equivalent to 10% of the total contract price as a performance bank guarantee within one month of the issuance of the letter of intent.

The successful bidder, if unable to provide insurance for solar modules, will provide security in the form of a bank guarantee for an amount equivalent to ₹2.5 million (~$30,076)/MW from the date of commissioning of the solar project, valid for 25 years.

The solar modules must be delivered within 12 months from the letter of intent.

Bidders should be manufacturers of modules having a rated capacity of 540 Wp or above and listed in the approved list of modules and manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The minimum average annual turnover of bidders during the last three financial years should be at least ₹5 million (~$60,152)/MW.

The net worth of bidders during the last financial years should be positive.

The solar modules should be warranted for their output peak watt capacity, which should not be less than 90% at the end of ten years and not less than 80% at the end of 25 years from the receipt of the last batch of solar modules at the site.

If the contractor fails to achieve the complete supply of the awarded capacity of solar modules as per the schedule, liquidated damages amounting to ₹14,850 (~₹178.65)/MW for each day of delay for the unsupplied portion of the modules, subject to a maximum of 5% of the total contract price, will apply.

Recently, NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, invited bids for the supply of 1.58 GW of crystalline solar bifacial modules with a minimum wattage output of 540 Wp for 1,255 MW projects at the Khavda Solar Park in Gujarat.

Last year, GIPCL had invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, procurement, erection, testing, and commissioning of 75 MW of grid-connected solar power project near its Surat Lignite Power Plant in the Surat district of Gujarat.
