Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has invited bids for 2.5 GW of onshore wind power projects and 475 MW of renewable energy projects under the innovation tender.
2.5 GW Onshore Wind Tender
The last date to submit bids is May 4, 2026.
Bidders must quote a tariff not exceeding the ceiling of €0.0725 (~$0.083)/kWh
Projects that have already been awarded capacities can also participate in the tender and may expand their awarded capacity by up to 15%.
The 2.5 GW tender is part of the 10 GW of onshore wind projects that will be tendered in 2026, distributed across four scheduled bidding rounds.
475 MW Innovation Tender
The innovation tender comprises projects using technologies spanning wind, solar, biomass, storage, geothermal, and hydropower.
The last date to submit bids is May 4, 2026.
Bidders must quote a tariff not exceeding the ceiling of €0.0713 (~$0.082)/kWh
The 475 MW tender is part of the 950 MW of renewable energy projects to be tendered in 2026, distributed across two scheduled bidding rounds.
Bids can also be submitted for solar projects installed on agricultural land.
Bidders must have installed less than 80 GW of ground-mounted solar projects on agricultural land and commissioned less than 80 GW of ground-mounted solar projects since January 1, 2023.
The projects can also be solar projects on arable land and grassland in disadvantaged areas.
Eligible wind energy projects must have issued and reported their permits to the market master data register by April 7, 2026. Eligible biomass projects must have issued and reported their permits to the market master data register by April 7, 2026.
Last year, the Bundesnetzagentur set price ceilings of €0.0725 (~$0.085)/kWh for onshore wind and €0.1 (~$0.12)/kWh for rooftop solar project auctions to be held in 2026.
The same year, it invited bids for 3.44 GW of onshore wind projects.
