82Volt, an electric vehicle (EV) charging tech start-up, has recently concluded its seed funding round, raising an amount of ₹50 million (~$606,908) from angel investors.

With the infusion of fresh capital from the seed funding round, the start-up aims to rapidly expand its installation capacity to 100 chargers within the next two months through its channel partners.

Simultaneously, the company plans to grow its team and extend its market reach.

Currently, 82Volt has an installed capacity of 10 chargers and a contractual capacity of 550. These chargers incorporate a range of unique features and are connected to a customized software system.

82Volt offers a wide range of AC and DC charging solutions, along with advanced software solutions.

The company said its chargers are robust, technologically advanced, and programmed to gather over 100 data points from each charging cycle, resulting in a smarter and more convenient experience.

Additionally, they integrate seamlessly with various associated services such as home automation, e-commerce, and advertising platforms.

Notably, 82Volt chargers provide real-time information on each charging station and have demonstrated the ability to enhance battery life through efficient charging techniques.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, R.K. Singh, Union Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy, noted that the government aims to install a total of 46,397 public charging stations for EVs in nine major cities by the end of the decade.

In December 2022, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, informed the lower house of Parliament that India has over 1.8 million registered EVs, with Uttar Pradesh accounting for nearly 23% of the total at 0.41 million.
