Coal India has selected solar engineering, procurement, and construction company Enerture Technologies to commission two grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 13 MW.

The 10 MW project will be located near the Purnadih coal mine, and the 3 MW project will be near the Churi coal mine in Jharkhand.

These projects are intended for Central Coalfields Ranchi at NK Area Chatra, Jharkhand. Enerture must also oversee the program’s operation and maintenance for five years.

The work was awarded for a contract value of ₹648.11 million (~$7.71 million).

The tender was floated in March this year.

Enerture must submit a performance bank guarantee of ₹32.4 million (~$3,85,361) by November 5, 2024.

The total contract period spans 2,065 days and consists of two main phases:

  • Construction of the project, including testing and commissioning, is allocated 240 days.
  • The comprehensive operation and maintenance of the project will be for 1,825 days.

Work should commence within 30 days of the issuance of the acceptance letter and the performance security submission or within seven days after the site is handed over for the first activity.

The solar modules must be Mono PERC with a minimum capacity of 535 Wp. Central inverters with an aggregate minimum capacity of 10 MW for Purnadih and 3 MW for Churi are specified for use.

Saatvik Green, Madhav Infra, APM Anand Projects, and Oriana Power were the other bidders.

Recently, Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India, invited bids to commission a 5 MW grid-connected floating solar project for Eastern Coalfields at the quarry sump of Dalmia OCP Salanpur Area in West Bengal.

In June, CMPDI invited bids for the design, engineering, procurement and supply, construction and erection, testing, and commissioning of grid-connected solar power projects of a cumulative capacity of 35 MW.
