Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, erection, and commissioning of 10 MW grid-connected rooftop solar power systems, including comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) for five years in DVC-owned buildings in West Bengal and Jharkhand.

The last date for submitting bids is July 31, 2024. Bids will be opened on August 1.

The scope of the work should include the installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems.

The estimated project cost, earnest money deposit, and tender document cost will be announced later.

Bidders must deliver a guaranteed capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 17% or higher for each rooftop system. All solar modules should carry a performance warranty of greater than 90% during the first ten years and greater than 80% during the next 15 years.

Additionally, the modules shall have a performance warranty of greater than 97% during the first year of installation, with degradation of the PV module being less than 0.7% a year.

The manufacturer should warrant the solar modules to be free from the defects and/or failures specified below for not less than ten years from the date of supply:

  • Defects and/or failures due to manufacturing
  • Defects and/or failures due to the quality of materials
  • Non-conformity to specifications due to faulty manufacturing and/or inspection processes

If the solar modules fail to conform to this warranty, the manufacturer will replace the solar modules at the owner’s sole option.

Performance ratio (PR) should be shown as a minimum of 75% at inspection for initial commissioning acceptance. Demonstrating the desired PR of 75% against commissioning is mandatory for accepting the rooftop solar systems.

Recently, DVC invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and five-year operation and maintenance of an 8 MW grid-tied ground-mounted solar power project at the DVC plant at Konar village in Hazaribagh District, Jharkhand.

In February last year, DVC invited bids from engineering, procurement, and construction contractors to commission an 8 MW ground-mounted solar project in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
