Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:

Tata Power Solar Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy, received the letter of award of ₹6.12 billion (~$76.74 million) to set up a 100 MW ground-mounted solar project for SJVN. The project will be commissioned within 11 months. The company also received a letter of award of ₹5.96 billion (~$74.73 million) to set up a 125 MW floating solar project from NHDC. The project is expected to be commissioned within 13 months and will provide sustainable power to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company.

Prozeal Infra was awarded a ₹822.3 million (~$10.31 million) engineering, procurement, and construction contract for a 14 MW grid-connected solar project from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation. The project will be installed in the Morbi District of Gujarat. Prozeal Infra will handle design, engineering, supply, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning, along with five years of operation and maintenance services. The project must be completed in 12 months.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said a professionally managed public transport system based on electricity in public-private partnership mode would get a good response in the country. Gadkari made the comments while addressing ‘INSIGHT 2022’: International Conference on Sustainable and Innovative Finance for Green and Healthy Transportation. The minister said the capital investment would not be a problem if a correct model were implemented. Efforts should be made to discourage the use of personal vehicles. He emphasized that with the coming of electric buses, there will be a reduction in pollution and import of diesel and crude oil. The minister congratulated CESL for the tender of 5450 e-buses which is the largest in the world. The minister also proposed setting up of E-road from Delhi to Jaipur.

NTPC announced the successful commissioning of the entire capacity of the 20 MW Auraiya floating solar project at Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh. With this, the standalone installed and commercial capacity of NTPC will become 57.49 GW, while the NTPC group’s installed and commercial capacity will become 70.08 GW.

KPI Green Energy announced that it received an order to execute a 4.2 MW wind-solar hybrid power project comprising a 4.2 MW wind turbine and 3 MWdc solar capacity. The order was from a Gujarat-based company, Nouveau Jewellery LLP, Surat. The project will be developed under the company’s captive power producer business segment.
