S.B.B. Mouldings, Kintech Synergy, Enertech Fuel Solutions, Prozeal Green Energy, Ausom Enterprise, Drashta Green Power, and SAEL Industries won Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam’s Phase XXV auction to supply power from 500 MW of grid-connected solar power projects with an additional 500 MW greenshoe option. Prozeal, Kintech, Ausom, Enertech, S.B.B., and Drashta won 100 MW, 50 MW, 50 MW, 40 MW, 10 MW, and 10 MW, respectively at a tariff of ₹2.55 (~$0.0300)/kWh. SAEL won 240 MW out of the quoted capacity of 300 MW at ₹2.56 (~$0.0301)/kWh under the bucket-filling method.
The Indian solar industry faces potential disruption due to the imposition of anti-dumping duties on solar glass imports from China. While designed to protect domestic manufacturers, the duties have raised concerns about further module price increases in an industry already grappling with higher costs since April following the reimposition of ALMM. Now with the imposition of anti-dumping, the difference between the current floor price ₹57,000 (~$677) and the earlier adjusted import price is ₹24,000 (~$282)/metric ton, equivalent to ₹24 (~$0.28)/kg.
The Government of Meghalaya has issued the Meghalaya Power Policy 2024, which seeks to foster a sustainable, inclusive, and efficient energy environment in the state. The policy addresses power generation, transmission, and distribution challenges while promoting renewable energy and ensuring sustainable development. Targeting a minimum 100 MW solar capacity by 2030, the policy addresses power generation, transmission, and distribution challenges while promoting renewable energy and ensuring sustainable development. Developers will benefit from land lease incentives, two-year transmission charge waivers, and exemptions from cross-subsidy surcharges.
NHPC has invited bids to select developers to set up 1.2 GW interstate transmission system-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects with or without energy storage (Tranche-X). The tender also has the provision for an additional 1.2 GW greenshoe option. The last day to submit the bids is January 16, 2025. Bids will be opened on January 21.
Coal India has invited expression of interest (EoI) for developing a 1,000 MW grid-connected solar power project in Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s solar park in Pugal, Rajasthan.
