Solar Energy Corporation of India floats tender for 10 MW floating solar project

Purvah Green Power, a subsidiary of Kolkata-based power utility Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC), won a 150 MW interstate transmission system-connected wind-solar hybrid power project from CESC. The project comes with an additional 150 MW capacity under the greenshoe option.
The Solar Energy Corporation of India, on behalf of Singareni Collieries Company (SCCL), invited bids to develop a 10 MW floating solar project in Singareni Thermal Power Plant, Telangana. The scope of work involves designing, engineering, procuring, constructing, testing, and commissioning the project. It also includes comprehensive operation and maintenance for ten years.
Bharat Coking Coal invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, installation and net metering of 2 MW grid-connected rooftop solar systems at multiple buildings. The successful bidder must also oversee the project’s operations and maintenance for five years.
China-based solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar Holding claimed that its N-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon)-based perovskite tandem solar cell achieved a conversion efficiency of 33.84%, surpassing its previous record of 33.24%. The company’s new tandem cell technology utilizes its N-type monocrystalline TOPCon solar cell as the bottom cell.
Japan-based plastics manufacturer Sekisui Chemicals plans to build a manufacturing facility for lightweight and flexible perovskite solar cells utilizing the country’s green innovation fund. The company aims to commercialize the technology in 2025 and invest capital to begin operating a 100 MW manufacturing line in 2027. It also plans to construct a GW-level production line by 2030.
