The Northern Regional Power Committee (NRPC) directed renewable energy developers, inverter original equipment manufacturers, and power project controller suppliers to implement technical and operational improvements after repeated generation loss events.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) announced the winners of the auction to set up 2,000 MW of interstate transmission system-connected wind power projects across India (Tranche XX).

Repeated busbar protection failures have triggered several transmission disturbances simultaneously across the northern grid recently, prompting the NRPC to direct utilities to take corrective measures. Utilities must strengthen maintenance, respond promptly to protection alarms, and ensure the health of busbar protection systems, the NRPC said at a recent meeting of its Protection Sub-Committee.

The Telangana Electricity Regulatory Commission granted Telangana Rythu Power Distribution Company a license to undertake the distribution and retail supply of electricity across the state. The Union Cabinet had approved the PM Surya Ghar program in 2024, aiming to install rooftop solar systems on 10 million households by the financial year 2027.

Jammu Power Distribution Corporation invited bids to select Renewable Energy Service Companies to develop 154 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects across 10 districts of the Jammu Division. The projects will be implemented under the utility-led aggregation model of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and are intended to serve about 77,333 Antyodaya Anna Yojana households. Bids must be submitted by August 6, 2026. Bids will be opened on August 7.
