MHI mandates 100% DCR requirement for 18 EV components under PM E-drive

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission issued the draft (Connectivity and General Network Access to the Inter-State Transmission System) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2025, introducing key changes to connectivity and network access regulations. One of the new clauses defines “entities with restricted access” as renewable energy generating stations or energy storage systems that can inject power only during solar or non-solar hours.
The Ministry of Heavy Industries mandated a 100% domestic content requirement for 18 electric vehicle (EV) components under the two-wheeler, three-wheeler, and e-buses segments to avail of subsidy under the PM E-Drive program. MHI has amended the eligibility criteria for the phased manufacturing program (PMP) components under PM E-Drive. PMP was launched under the Faster Adoption & Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India-II program to ensure original equipment manufacturers are producing EV components locally.
The Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana issued two tenders to develop a cumulative capacity of 3.6 MW ground-mounted solar projects in Warangal under a build, operate, maintain, and transfer model. The projects will be in Namapur village and Jammikunta town and have capacities of 1.6 MW and 2 MW, respectively. The 1.6 MW project consists of a 500 kW system at Namapur and a 1.1 MW system at Jammikunta. The 2 MW project consists of a 500 kW system at Namapur and a 1.5 MW system at Jammikunta.
Solid Power, an all-solid-state battery manufacturer for electric vehicles, delivered $20.1 million in revenue during 2024, marking a 16% increase from $17.4 million in 2023. The company attributed this growth primarily to progress on its SK On Agreements, executing key steps in technology transfer and achieving milestones related to its line installation agreement. The revenue exceeded analysts’ expectations by $2.64 million.
Independent power producer JSW Energy raised ₹12 billion (~$137.70 million) through private placement of Non-Convertible Debentures. In a BSE filing, the company said its finance committee had approved the allotment of 120,000 unsecured, rated, listed, taxable, redeemable NCDs, each with a face value of ₹100,000 (~$1,147). The issuance has been structured into two tranches with distinct tenures and interest rates.
China-based polysilicon manufacturer Daqo New Energy Corporation reported a 1.56% year-over-year drop in revenue to $195.4 million in the fourth quarter of 2024 from $198.5 million. The company attributed the drop in revenue to a decrease in the average selling price of polysilicon. Xiang Xu, Chairman and CEO of Daqo, said that the market is witnessing a sharp price decline across the entire value chain due to excess capacity in the solar photovoltaic industry.
New York-based global alternative asset manager Brookfield Asset Management announced the sale of its 1.6 GW portfolio of solar and wind assets in India to Gentari Renewables India in two phases. The first phase, comprising the sale of 1 GW of operating assets, is already complete. It is Brookfield’s first full-cycle portfolio monetization for its renewable power and transition business in India.
