Facilitating the widespread adoption of renewable energy requires a coordinated effort between state and central agencies. Equally important is establishing a policy regime that leaves no room for ambiguities for project developers, manufacturers, and end-users alike.

Policies conducive to all segments of the clean energy sector is a must for India to achieve the goal of installing 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030. Policy and regularity clarity at the federal and state levels are central to realizing this goal. During the session titled ‘Renewable Energy Project Development–Creating an Enabling Policy Environment that Supports Renewable Deployment’, developers and policymakers will discuss challenges, examine potential strategies, and offer recommendations to help India achieve its renewable energy objectives.

The session aims to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among key stakeholders to create a robust framework that supports the growth of renewable energy across the country.

The panelists for the session are Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Deepesh Nanda, President – Renewables, Tata Power and MD & CEO, Tata Power Renewable Energy, RPV Prasad, Managing Director – India Region, Envision Energy, Deepak Ushadevi, MD & CEO, Ciel et Terre Solar and Rahil Mehrotra, General Manager, JSW Steel.

The 2024 Summit will also feature two notable side events: the fourth annual Mercom India Awards and the second Cleantech Startup Pitch Competition.

The Mercom India Awards, recognized as one of the solar industry’s most prestigious accolades, will honor outstanding achievements and spotlight the sector’s transformation.
