Coal India Subsidiary Invites Bids for 2.5 MW of Rooftop Solar Systems

Bharat Coking Coal (BCCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India, has invited bids for installing and commissioning 2.48 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems with net metering arrangements at 44 locations in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
The successful bidder will also have to take care of the project’s operation and maintenance for five years.
The last date to submit the bids is February 22, 2023. Bids will be opened the next day.
The project’s estimated cost is ₹149.72 million (~$1.81 million).
Bidders will have to submit ₹1.87 million (~$22,595) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must furnish an amount equivalent to 3% of the contract amount within 21 days of the issuance of the letter of award as a performance security.
Bidders should have completed three similar works, each costing not less than 40% of the estimated cost of the project, or two similar works, each costing not less than 50% of the estimated cost of the project, or one similar work costing at least 80% of the project’s estimated cost.
The average annual financial turnover of bidders during the last three financial years should be at least 30% of the project’s estimated cost.
Bidders should have a valid electrical contractor’s license and an electrical supervisor’s license.
Only Class-I local suppliers and Class-II local suppliers are eligible to bid in this tender.
A Class-I local supplier is a supplier or service provider whose goods, services, or works offered for procurement have local content equal to or more than 50%. A Class-II local supplier is a supplier or service provider whose goods, services, or works offered for procurement have local content equal to or more than 20% but less than 50%.
Recently, Central Mine Planning and Design Institute, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Coal India, invited bids for installing and commissioning a 4 MW grid-connected solar project for Central Coalfields in the Giridih area of Jharkhand.
Earlier, Mahanadi Coalfields, another subsidiary of Coal India, had invited bids for the installation and commissioning of 2.5 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems with net metering arrangements on residential and non-residential buildings in Odisha.
