CMPDI Floats Tender for 70 MW Solar Project in Nagpur

Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI), a subsidiary of Coal India, has invited bids for design, engineering, procurement and supply, construction and erection, testing, and commissioning of a grid-connected 70 MW solar power project with ten years of comprehensive operation and maintenance for Western Coalfields, Nagpur, at Nandan Kanhan Washery area.

The last date for submitting bids is August 16, 2024. Bids will be opened on August 19.

The work will commence within 30 days from the issue of the letter of acceptance and submission of performance security or seven days after handing over the site for the first activity.

Bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹5 million (~$59,858.3)

The total contract period of the project is 4,192 days (540 days + 3,652 days)

  • Construction of project including testing & commissioning: 540 days.
  • Comprehensive Operation & Maintenance of project: 3652 days.

Bidders must have completed similar works within the last seven years, ending on the last day of the month before the one in which bid applications are invited. The required experience must be any of the following:

  • Three similar completed works, each costing not less than 20% of the estimated cost.
  • Two similar completed works, each costing not less than 25% of the estimated cost.
  • One similar completed work costing not less than 40% of the estimated cost.

Similar works are defined as the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic grid-connected power projects, which can include ground-mounted, rooftop, or floating.

Bidders must have an average annual financial turnover of at least 30% of the estimated cost during three of the last four financial years.

They must also provide a certificate that they possess an amount which should be at least 20% of the Annualized value or estimated value, whichever is less of the project. The certificate should also include evidence of access to lines of credit and other financial resources to meet the requirements.

Recently, CMPDI invited bids for the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and testing of grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative capacity of 13 MW.

In August last year, CMPDI invited bids to implement a grid-connected 8.5 MW solar project for Central Coalfields.
