Bosch, a supplier of technology and services, has commissioned a 4 MW solar project at the New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT). Bosch Energy and Building Solutions executed the project.
The project will deliver close to 20,000 units of electricity per day for captive consumption by NMPT. The project is expected to reduce CO2 emissions to the tune of nearly 4,100 tons per annum.
“The design of the solar project is such that it will allow for future expansion of the project,” said Mr. Venugopalan CM, head, Bosch Energy and Building Solutions.
Bosch views airports and seaports as a focus area for providing energy solutions, and this seaport project is the latest feather in its cap.
Major ports in India are setting up solar projects to become energy self-sufficient under SECI’s port solarization program. The SECI has set a target of 11.19 MW of solar for the NMPT.
