Bids Invited for 54 MW of Solar Projects Under KUSUM Program in Gujarat

Uttar Gujarat Vij Company (UGVCL) has invited bids to install and commission 54 MW of grid-connected solar power projects for agricultural feeders under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) program along with the 11 kV line and the remote monitoring system.
The project will be developed under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model.
The last date to submit the bids online is July 19, 2022. Bids will be opened on July 25.
Under Component C of the KUSUM program, the government aims to solarize 1.5 million grid-connected solar pumps of individual capacity up to 7.5 HP by 2022.
No earnest money is required to participate in the tender. The successful bidder will have to furnish ₹500,000 (~$6,337)/MW as a performance bank guarantee within 15 days from the issuance of the letter of award.
The project cost is ₹35 million (~$443,625), as estimated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in the guidelines for feeder level solarization.
The project must be commissioned within nine months from signing the power purchase agreement (PPA).
Bidders should have installed and commissioned grid-connected solar power plants with a cumulative capacity of 1 MW, with individual solar projects of 10 kW or more capacity during the last five years with any government or private organization.

Bidders should have a positive net worth for each of the last three financial years.
The PPA will be signed for 25 years at a tariff discovered in the tender and adopted by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission.
The successful bidder will get central financial assistance (CFA) of ₹10.5 million (~$133,088)/MW, subject to the installation and commissioning of the project in line with the MNRE requirement.
Bidders should have an electrical contractor license in Gujarat.
In February this year, Paschim Gujarat Vij Company invited bids to design, supply, install and commission solar projects of an aggregate capacity of 1.125 MW for various agricultural feeders along with the associated 11 kV line and the remote monitoring system under the RESCO model.
Earlier, Paschim Gujarat Vij Company had invited bids to design, supply, install, and commission solar projects with an aggregate capacity of 1.024 MW for various agricultural feeders along with the associated 11 kV line and the remote monitoring system under the RESCO model.
According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, tenders for 75.4 MW of grid-connected agriculture pumps have been floated under Component C of the KUSUM program in Gujarat.
