Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has issued a notice inviting tender for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of NTPC’s 20 MW grid-connected solar power project at Gandhar in Gujarat for three years.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹38.66 million (~$497,705).

The last day to submit the bids is May 3, 2022. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹773,000 (~$9,970). The successful bidder must remit 5% of the project cost as a security deposit.


The scope of work includes comprehensive O&M of the solar project up to 220 kV side of 33/220 kV grid-tie transformer and 220KV bay. The successful bidder must ensure the project has optimum energy generation. The successful bidder must also provide breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance overhauls and arrange the visit of O&M experts when required.

Daily work involves logging the project’s voltage, current, power factor, power and energy output, and individual array output data. The successful bidder must also record the monthly energy output of each array and transformer, and reports must be prepared on the project’s performance.

Bidders must have executed three similar works, each costing not less than ₹15.46 million (~$199,009), or two similar completed works, each costing not less than ₹19.33 million (~$248,826), or one similar completed work costing not less than ₹30.93 million (~$398,147).

Bidders must have an average annual financial turnover of at least 30% of the project cost during the last three financial years ending March 31, 2021. They must enclose the audited balance sheet and profit and loss account or turnover certificate from a chartered accountant for the last three financial years ending March 31, 2021.

If the vendor fails to start the O&M work within two weeks, a penalty of 0.5% per week of delay on the value of the work order will be levied.
