Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has floated a tender for installing, testing, and commissioning a 2.5 MW rooftop solar project at the Yadadri thermal power plant in Bhuvanagiri, Telangana.

The last date to submit the bids is September 16, 2024. Bids will be opened on September 17.

Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹190,250 (~$2,266). They must also pay a security deposit of 5% of the contract value.

The scope of work covers handling the material, temporary storage and security, and shifting BHEL-supplied material such as modules, MMS structures, inverters, LT/ACCB panels, DC cables, AC cables, DCDB, ACDB, and foundation hardware. Bidders will also have to supply the monorail and its installation accessories.

The pre-commissioning activities start with energizing the start-up power supply systems, followed by a trial run for 1.5 MW of the total capacity.

The successful bidder must follow protocols before and after commissioning. All testing activities should follow the relevant standard, code of practice, manufacturer’s instructions, and BHEL norms. Grouting must be conducted wherever necessary as directed by the BHEL site in-charge. This will be done at no cost.

Bidders must arrange the manpower for the commissioning and conduct tests on the erected equipment as desired by BHEL.

In June, BHEL issued a tender for 1.6 MW solar photovoltaic projects at its Heavy Plates and Vessels Plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project comprised a 1 MW capacity for the factory and 0.6 MW for the township, both with net metering arrangements.

Last year, the company invited bids to procure 90 million units (MUs) of round-the-clock renewable power annually on a long-term basis. The procured power will be supplied to the ex-bus periphery at the company units located in Haridwar (54 MU), Bhopal (12 MU), Trichy (12 MU), and Hyderabad (12 MU).
