Bharat Coking Coal (BCCL) has invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, installation and net metering of 2 MW grid-connected rooftop solar systems at various buildings.

The successful bidder must also oversee the project’s operations and maintenance for five years.

Bids must be submitted by January 23, 2025. Bids will be opened on January 24.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1.34 million (~$15,597). The estimated cost, including GST, of the project is ₹107.89 million (~$1.25 million).

The work must be completed within 105 days.

The bidders’ scope of work also includes co-ordination with BCCL, the distribution companies, and the Chief Electrical Inspector for the evacuation of generated power to the nearest substation at an appropriate recommended voltage.

Bidders must also provide a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system for remote monitoring/control of plant facilities along with communication cables.

Eligible bidders must also maintain sufficient inventory of spare parts to ensure that the systems can be made functional within 48 hours of their breakdown.

The estimated site capacity of each location may differ or change as per site conditions.

Bidders must have completed any one of the following works as a prime contractor during the last seven years:

  • Three similar completed works, each costing not less than 40% of the estimated cost.
  • Two similar completed works, each costing not less than 50% of the estimated cost.
  • One similar completed work costing not less than 80% of the estimated cost.

Similar nature of work includes the supply, installation, commissioning, testing and comprehensive maintenance of grid-connected rooftop solar systems.

The bidders’ average annual financial turnover during the last three years should be at least 30% of the estimated cost.

In December 2024, BCCl invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a cumulative 1.882 MW of rooftop solar systems under the net metering arrangement at Belgaria Township in Jharkhand.
