The 70 MW projects will be built in Iswhardi in Pabna, Chakaria and Pekua in Cox’s Bazar, and Sitakunda in Chattogram.

The 100 MW projects will be set up in Anwara in Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Gopalganj, Ghatail in Tangail, Pirganj in Thakurgaon, Faridpur, Mirsarai in Chattogram, Mongla in Bagerhat, Mirzapur in Tangail, Moulavibazar, Rajbari, Rupsha in Khulna, Lalmonirhat, and Shambuganj in Mymensingh.

Last year, BPDB floated 12 tenders for a total capacity of 353 MW grid-connected solar power projects. BDBP will fund the project. The capacities ranged from 10 MW and 45 MW.

In 2023, the agency also floated three tenders for constructing 77.6 MW of grid-connected solar projects across the country on a turnkey basis. The first tender was for constructing a 50 MW grid-connected solar power project at Rangunia in the Chattogram district on a turnkey basis. Under the second tender, bids were invited to construct a 20 MW solar project at Barapukuria in the Dinajpur district.

The same year, Amara Raja Infra, a subsidiary of battery maker Amara Raja Group, in collaboration with Premier Solar Powertech, a solar module manufacturer in India, secured a 100 MW solar project from Bangladesh’s Rural Power Company.
