Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam (AVVNL) has issued a tender to develop 72.33 MW grid-connected solar power projects under component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) for feeder level solarization.

The scope of the work includes design, survey, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance (O&M) of the projects for 25 years.

Under component C of the PM-KUSUM program, the government aims to solarize 1 million grid-connected agricultural pumps of individual pump capacity up to 7.5 HP.

The select bidder must develop the projects through the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model.

The last date for the submission of bids is June 27, 2023. Bids will be opened the next day.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹35 million (~$424,187) /MW.

Bidders must submit ₹100,000 (~$1,211)/MW of the quoted capacity as an earnest money deposit.

Successful bidders will have to furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee of ₹500,000 (~$6,059 )/MW of the quoted capacity.

The projects must be commissioned within nine months from the date of signing the Power Purchase Agreement.

A bidder can submit a bid for one or more than one solar power projects.

The bidder should have a minimum annual average turnover equivalent to 30% of the total cost of the quoted capacity during the last three years.

The project aims to deploy solar photovoltaic technology using well-established options such as crystalline silicon, thin film, or concentrated photovoltaic, with or without trackers. The objective is to minimize technology-related risks and ensure the timely commissioning of the project by utilizing commercially proven and operational technologies.

AVVNL sold 27,941 million units of power, generating revenue of ₹170.88 billion (~$2.08 billion) in 2022. It registered a net profit of ₹5.58 billion (~$68.16 million) for the year.

Last year, AVVNL announced the lowest bids for 55 MW of rooftop solar projects under the capital expenditure model for three power distribution companies in Rajasthan.
