Gurgaon-based independent power producer ACME Solar Holdings has cumulatively commissioned 155 MW/470.25 MWh of battery storage projects in Rajasthan.

Post the commissioning of the 470.25 MWh battery storage projects, the company’s commissioned battery storage capacity stands at 297.67 MW/951.74 MWh.

ACME has planned 835 MW/3,114.64 MWh of battery storage projects in the state.

These battery storage projects are connected to the existing operational interstate transmission system (ISTS) and will be operated for merchant sales. The projects will generate an additional revenue stream through the price differential between peak and non-peak hours.

These projects are designed to enhance grid stability and optimize power utilization by charging batteries during off-peak hours and discharging them during peak-demand hours. The configuration of battery storage projects will play a critical role in balancing energy supply and demand and improving overall grid stability.

ACME Solar Holdings has a diversified portfolio of 8,071 MW across solar, wind, storage, firm and dispatchable renewble energy (FDRE) and hybrid solutions.

It has an operational contracted capacity of 2,978 MW, excluding around 1 GWh of battery storage capacity.

ACME has 5,093 MW of projects under construction, which include around 16 GWh of battery energy storage installations.

The company has also signed power purchase agreements for 3,292 MW of projects, which are under construction.

In February 2026, ACME won 301 MW at a tariff of ₹6.28 (~$0.0695)/kWh under Solar Energy Corporation of India’s auction for the assured peak supply of 4,800 MWh of FDRE from ISTS-connected projects co0located energy storage systems.

ACME Solar Holdings commissioned 142.67 MW/481.49 MWh battery storage projects in Rajasthan through its subsidiaries. This storage capacity is part of the first phase of the company’s planned total of 585 MW/2,011.24 MWh battery storage projects.

The company plans to commission approximately 2 GWh of storage capacity by Q4 FY 2026, up from the 1 GWh previously expected.

Last year, ACME secured a debt tie-up of ₹47.2 billion (~$519.2 million) from Indian financial institutions to fund the construction of renewable energy projects and optimize its capital structure by reducing financing costs. Out of the total amount, ₹27.1 billion (~$298.1 million) has been secured from Power Finance Corporation for the company’s 300 MW FDRE project.
