20 MW Solar Project Tendered for Durgapur Steel Plant in West Bengal

NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL), a joint venture between the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), focused mainly on power generation, has tendered a 20 MW solar project at the Durgapur Steel Plant, in West Bengal. The bid submission deadline for the project is July 28, 2017.

The scope of work for the project includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packaging and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation and commissioning of the project. The developer will also need to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the project and transmission system for a period of five years from the date of commissioning.

In terms of eligibility requirements, NSPCL has mandated that the bidder should have designed, supplied, erected and commissioned solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 16 MW or more, out of which at least one project should have been a minimum capacity of 10 MW. The reference project must have been in operation for at least six months prior to the date of techno-commercial bid opening.
