Waaree Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of Waaree Energies, has commissioned two 1.52 GW solar inverter manufacturing lines, totalling 3.05 GW, at its facility in Sarodhi-Valsad, Gujarat.

The company will manufacture single-phase and three-phase on-grid inverters.

According to the Mercom India Solar Market Leaderboard 2025, string inverters captured a larger market share than central inverters during the year. Central inverters accounted for 48.7% of the total supply in 2024, a 55.2% decline from 2023, while string inverters accounted for 51.3% of the total inverter supply.

Highlighting the need to increase the reliance on domestic inverters, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy mandated all original equipment manufacturers enlisted to supply inverters under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana to integrate inverter communication devices with the PM Surya Ghar portal. The move came amid reports that inverter communication devices were transmitting data to servers outside India, potentially risking grid disruptions.

Apart from inverters, Waaree’s offerings include modules, battery energy storage systems, and electrolyzer stacks.

In December 2025, Waaree Energies commissioned an additional 1.5 GW of high-efficiency N-type module manufacturing lines at its plant in Samakhiali, Kutch, in Gujarat. The company’s total solar module manufacturing capacity stood at 22.3 GW globally, comprising 19.7 GW in India and 2.6 GW in the U.S.

In a significant investment, Waaree Energies’ subsidiary, Waaree Solar Americas, announced its decision to buy 53,68,551 Series B shares of polysilicon manufacturer United Solar Holding for $30 million. The proposed investment, for which the two companies signed a binding term sheet, will help strengthen Waaree’s long-term, secure, and fully traceable polysilicon supply chain to support its expanding U.S. and global manufacturing footprint.

To enhance battery cell and pack manufacturing capacity and scale containerized battery energy storage systems across India and select global markets, Waaree Energy Storage Systems secured ₹3.25 billion (~$36.65 million) as part of a ₹10 billion (~$112.78 million) funding round led by investment firm Niveshaay.
